Emergency Dentist - Alice Springs

At Alice Dental Associates, we strive to help our patients avoid dental emergencies with our Active Maintenance Programme. Active Maintenance includes your regular check-ups and cleans, in addition to digital dental x-rays and oral cancer screenings. All of our preventive dentistry aims to identify any problems early before dental emergencies arise.

Even with the best of intentions, sometimes pain, toothache or a broken tooth will lead you to our dental clinic on an emergency basis. We are here when you need us most, and we often treat dental emergencies on the same day.

Common Dental Emergencies

You may wonder if your situation warrants an immediate emergency visit. A good indication that Dr Paul Rollason needs to see you right away is any time pain is present. Most dental conditions do not cause pain until they are well advanced and involve the nerve. Pain is your body’s way of asking for professional help.

· Toothache and pain

· Inflammation and pressure

· Bleeding that you can’t control

· A broken or fractured tooth

· Severe sensitivity

· A knocked-out tooth

If you ever feel unsure of your condition, we welcome you to contact our dental clinic to discuss your options with one of our knowledgeable staff. We will provide guidance that puts you at ease.

Dental Emergency Visits

We welcome both existing and new patients to contact us for dental emergencies. We will greet you upon your arrival, update your medical history, gather information about your emergency and take an x-ray of the area to assist with Dr Rollason’s diagnosis.

Once he determines the cause of your pain, he will provide palliative treatment to stabilise your condition. In some cases, we can provide treatment in a single appointment. In other cases, such as root canal therapy and dental crowns, we will invite you back for another appointment.

Knocked-Out Teeth

A dislodged or avulsed tooth requires immediate care. Often, we need to place the tooth back into the bone within an hour of the accident. Until we can see you in the dental clinic, keep your tooth clean and moist. Avoid handling it by the root.

Root Canal Treatment

In most cases, we can perform root canal treatment here in our Brisbane dental clinic as part of the comprehensive dentistry we provide. While many people associate root canal therapy with pain, this is actually a common misconception. Root canals relieve rather than cause dental pain. We use modern rotary endodontic instruments for efficient and comfortable root canals with a high rate of success.
